Sunderland fans are in dreamland with their SAFC favourites gearing up for a season of European football.
The UEFA Europa League draw will be held on Friday, August 28 and it will set out Sunderland’s eight opponents for the league phase.
But we had a question for the followers of the Sunderland Echo’s sister Facebook page called Wearside Echoes which specialises in nostalgia .
We asked: ‘Who would you select to play for the Black Cats in the Europa League if you could select a squad of players from any time in the club’s history?’
It certainly got supporters thinking and here are the players who got the most nominations. Have a look and see if you agree.
And if you don’t, get in touch to share your own thoughts on which legends should be in the team. Tell us more by emailing [email protected]
