Decades of disco lovers will remember this once popular venue in South Tyneside.
It was known as Ruperts nightclub to hordes of nightclubbers in the 1970s. And if you went along to the spot in Ocean Road in later years, you would remember it as Roxannes.
The building is back in the news with Shields Gazette stories telling us that it could be transformed into a guest house.
New plans have now been submitted seeking permission to convert the building to “B&B/guest accommodation”, including 44 guest rooms under one management and booking operation, a reception/check-in area and ancillary guest facilities.
Changes may be on the way but we can always look back on the great times you had there. Take a look through our photos and then share your own memories by emailing [email protected]
