What a month May 2016 was for Shields Gazette headlines.
Little Mix, Tony Hadley from Spandau Ballet and Olympic swimmer Josef Craig made it onto the news pages 10 years ago and so did Jerry the cat who managed to hitch a ride through the Tyne Tunnel.
They weren’t the only ones to grab our attention. The Encore cabaret act, church missionary Anne Seymour and The People’s Angels Selling Group were also on the pages of the Shields Gazette.
But to find out more, why not have a look through our gallery of 2016 memories.
We would also like to hear from people with memories of their own to share from years gone by. Maybe you want to reminisce about a favourite pub, restaurant, shop or nightclub.
Perhaps there’s a factory you worked at that you loved and you want to tell us about your workmates who you’ve lost touch with.
Get in touch by emailing [email protected] to tell us more.
