Northern League: Boldon CA boss hails 'massive three points' against Seaton Carew
Boldon CA boosted their promotion push with a 4-2 home win against Northern League Division Two rivals Seaton Carew.
Boldon CA joint-manager Chris Spence believes his side secured a ‘massive three points’ when they were forced to battle for a home win against Northern League Division Two rivals Seaton Carew.

The step six newcomers and reigning Wearside League champions appeared to be heading into half-time with a narrow lead after Craig Linsel and Kingston Butler scored either side of an equaliser from Boldon winger James Fairley. However, former Dunston UTS forward Liam Thear got the hosts back on level-terms just before the interval and second-half goals from Fairley and Callum Hughes ensured Boldon stretched their run to just one defeat in 15 league games.

Spence was proud of the ‘huge mentality’ shown by his players as they twice came from behind to claim a win that has ensured they are now just three points behind Division Two leaders Billingham Town.
Speaking after the game, the Boldon joint-manager told The Gazette: “It was a huge mentality from the lads to come from behind because we gave away two poor goals to be honest with you. But credit to the lads because we reacted really well to get it level just before the break. Then in the second half we really kicked on and showed what we’re about. It was vital to build on last week and to come away with another three points is massive for us.”
Boldon are without a game in midweek and that means they can now focus their attention on a home game against Newcastle University on Saturday afternoon.
