Newcastle United supporters were last able to watch a game in early March before football was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Premier League restarted in June behind closed doors, and the new season will also start without spectators. However, the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport has approved a number of test events where fans will be admitted on a socially-distanced basis

Brighton are making 2,500 tickets available to season-ticket holders and 1901 Club members for Saturday’s friendly against Chelsea at the Amex Stadium.

Newcastle’s first three friendlies are being played at training facilities without any fans or media present. The club is due to kick off its Premier League campaign on September 12 with a behind-closed-doors game against West Ham United at the London Stadium.
