The Sun claims the figure is a reward for Bruce for keeping the Magpies in the Premier League last season.

The tabloid publication’s claim comes days after rumours surfaced that the North East club would only have around £12 million to spend this summer.

Newcastle United eye two players for big money.

The Sun also states that Arsenal’s Joe Willock is a top priority following last season’s heroics at St James’ Park.

The former Newcastle United loanee is rated at around £30 million, with Liverpool’s Nat Phillips also a potential incoming at around £10 million.

Yes," said Mikel Arteta recently when asked if Willock was part of his long term plans as things stand.

"I'm really happy that things have gone so well for him because of the potential that Joe [Willock] has.

"I think it was great for him to go away and have a different experience. He has grabbed that opportunity in a really remarkable and positive way.

"He will be back with us, we will have those conversations with him and plan the next years for him."

When pressed further on Willock’s future, Arteta said: "Well for sure because he’s got a contract and he’s going to be here, so that’s for sure."
