Steve Bruce set to be handed increased transfer kitty

Steve Bruce will reportedly have a £50million transfer kitty handed to him by Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley.

The Sun claims the figure is a reward for Bruce for keeping the Magpies in the Premier League last season.

The tabloid publication’s claim comes days after rumours surfaced that the North East club would only have around £12 million to spend this summer.

The Sun also states that Arsenal’s Joe Willock is a top priority following last season’s heroics at St James’ Park.

The former Newcastle United loanee is rated at around £30 million, with Liverpool’s Nat Phillips also a potential incoming at around £10 million.

"I'm really happy that things have gone so well for him because of the potential that Joe [Willock] has.

"I think it was great for him to go away and have a different experience. He has grabbed that opportunity in a really remarkable and positive way.
