Daniel Moore delighted with Hebburn Town transfer business ahead of new National League North season

Hebburn Town are preparing for their first ever season in the National League North.

Hebburn Town manager Daniel Moore believes he is piecing together a squad to make supporters proud ahead of the Hornets first ever season in the National League North.

The likes of Gary Martin, Olly Martin and Arron Thompson have all left the club in the aftermath of last season’s Northern Premier League title win - but Moore has wasted little time in boosting his ranks with a number of eye-catching signings over the last three weeks.

Whitby Town forward Jake Charles became the Hornets’ first summer signing before he was joined by former Darlington trio Matty Cornish, Elliot Forbes and Tom Allan. Goalkeeper Sam Taylor signed first-team forms after impressing for Hebburn’s reserve side last season and former Spennymoor Town and Morpeth Town defender Dan Myers became the latest new addition on Friday.

The Hornets squad will return to pre-season training this week as they prepare for a truly historic season - and Moore has promised to deliver a team that will ‘play with pace, energy and intensity’ as they take on the likes of South Shields, Darlington, Hereford and Morecambe in non-league’s second tier during the new campaign.

In a message to supporters posted on the club’s official website, Moore said: “I want to thank the players that moved on from the club from. Although we wanted to keep them, they decided to move on for their own individual reasons, be it financially or personal but that is football and we move on.

“My phone started the day after we won the league and has not stopped since. I am chuffed to bits with the lads we’ve brought into the football club so far. They are individuals we believe will add quality, character and the right mentality to fit into what we have built at the club over the last few years.

“We are trying to build a squad that we want you to be proud of. A team that will play with pace, energy and intensity, combined with the blend of experience, youth and genuine quality who understand exactly what it means to represent Hebburn.”
