Hebburn Town FC secure former Newcastle United academy striker in loan deal
Hebburn Town have added to their attacking options ahead of the new National League North season.
Hebburn Town FC have boosted their attacking options with the loan signing of Hartlepool United striker Josh Donaldson.
The former Newcastle United academy frontman joined Pools last summer following his release from the Magpies and was immediately sent out on loan to Northern Premier League East Division club Dunston UTS. Donaldson impressed during his first season in senior football as he scored 13 goals in 26 appearances and he will now look to step up into the National League North with Hebburn as Daniel Moore’s men prepare for their first season in the second tier of the non-league game.

The Hornets boss admitted he was keen to secure a deal for Donaldson and the Pools striker will now join team-mate Kian Foreman at the Trustmark Group Stadium until January.
Speaking after the midweek friendly with Gateshead, the Hornets boss said of Donaldson: “He’s another lad I kept an eye on throughout last season when he was at Dunston and he’s a very good goalscorer. He scored a goal every other game when you look at his stats. That’s something we want to bring to the club, we want to score goals and we are going to need to score goals to achieve what we want to achieve so hopefully, we can get him in as well and give him a platform to flourish in a team that will get after teams during the season and will score goals.”
Donaldson appeared for Hebburn for the first time in Saturday’s pre-season friendly at Morpeth Town.
