Newcastle United defender makes blunt admission
Danny Rose has spoken about his form for loan club Newcastle United.
The England international joined the club on loan in January after being sidelined at Tottenham Hotspur.
Rose needed to play games ahead of Euro 2020. However, the 29-year-old doesn’t believe he is yet playing to his potential at St James's Park.
Speaking to BBC Radio Newcastle, the defender said: “I feel great that I’m getting a run of games, (but) I still don’t feel as if I’m playing to my potential. I expect a lot more from myself, I know the manager expects a lot more from me.”
United head coach Steve Bruce, however, believes Rose and midfielder Nabil Bentaleb, also signed on loan, will get sharper week by week. He said: “The concern with the other two, and especially Nabil, was game time. I do believe they’ll be better for the games. They'll be fine.”
