Premier League games could be played behind closed doors – or even postponed – because of the fast-spreading virus, and Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers today revealed that some of his players are showing “symptoms and signs” of coronavirus ahead of Saturday's game against Watford.

"We've had a few players that have shown symptoms and signs,” said Rodgers. “We’ve followed procedures, and they’ve been kept away from the squad. We have a fantastic medical team here at the club that gives guidance to the players and staff and everyone. It’s been made pretty clear about what we should look out for.”

Rodgers added: “The public’s health is the most important aspect in all of this.”

Newcastle United, meanwhile, have issued guidance to fans ahead of Saturday’s Premier League home game against Sheffield United.
