Steve Bruce has responded to Danny Rose’s criticism of plans to restart the Premier League next month.

Bruce and his Newcastle United players were tested for coronavirus today ahead of a planned return to training on Tuesday after two months at home due to the pandemic.

On-loan defender Rose, 29, voiced his opposition to the proposals this week, though Bruce says he will return to training.

Danny Rose has made a few comments the other day and I’m sure he could have chose his words more differently, but he’s been the most generous player in England for what he’s done behind the scenes to try and help the NHS, buys pizzas for everybody and has give away lots and lots of money to help a lot of people,” said head coach Bruce told NBC Sports.

“He’s obviously finding it difficult, but everybody’s personal circumstances will come into the debate. We’ll have to look at all those things.”
