Whilst there will be money to spend when the transfer window opens, free agents could be a good way for Newcastle United to add quality to their squad, whilst also staying in-line with Financial Fair Play restrictions.
Seemingly this summer, more than ever, some of the biggest names in football could be available for teams to snap-up on a free transfer.
Whilst nothing is official just yet, superstars like Anotnio Rudiger, Franck Kessie and Kylian Mbappe look like moving clubs on a free this summer.
But what about the others whose futures haven’t quite been decided yet? Should Newcastle United be looking to swoop for these players when the window opens?
Here, we take a look at some of Europe’s brightest talents that could be available for Newcastle United to sign on a free transfer this summer:

5. Jason Denayer
Denayer’s name has cropped up one or two times in relation to Newcastle’s search for defensive reinforcements. After being let go by Manchester City early on in his career, the Belgian may feel he has unfinished business in the Premier League. Photo: ROMAIN PERROCHEAU

6. Boubacar Kamara
Kamara has been linked with a move to Newcastle for almost a year now after huge speculation that the Magpies showed interest in him last summer. Kamara has also been linked with Manchester United among others so expect any deal that gets over the line to be a hard-fought one. Photo: NICOLAS TUCAT

7. Corentin Tolisso
Tolisso has spent five seasons at Bayern Munich but has found first-team appearances hard to come by this season. Tolisso would be a fantastic midfield option for Newcastle and would bring great experience of playing at Europe’s highest level with him. Photo: Alexander Hassenstein

8. Christian Eriksen
Brentford have been a completely different team since adding Eriksen to their ranks in January. There’s plenty of interest in Eriksen from across the Premier League with Newcastle likely having to fend off interest from teams like Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal if they are to secure his services.
