The additions of Sven Botman, Matt Targett and Nick Pope have bolstered the back-line - Newcastle will now turn their attention to strengthening further up the field.
Whether they look to add quality in wide areas or add a striker as competition and cover for Callum Wilson, this is likely to be the next area the Magpies strengthen this window.
Unsurprisingly, a whole host of attacking players have been linked with a move to St James’s Park this summer - but just what would each of them bring to the club should they make the move to Tyneside?
Here, we take a look at every attacking player that Newcastle United have been linked with signing this summer:

5. Moussa Diaby
Diaby would be a tremendous addition to Newcastle United should they be able to make a breakthrough in negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen. The Frenchman won’t come cheap, but he’s a fantastic player and one that could transform their fortunes. Photo: Hector Vivas

6. Armando Broja
Broja spent last season on loan at Southampton and impressed whilst on the south coast. Chelsea are set to assess the striker during pre-season but could loan him out once they’ve returned from their training camp. Photo: GLYN KIRK

7. Alexander Isak
Recent reports linking Newcastle with a move for the Sweden international has got fans very excited on social media. Isak is one of European football’s hottest prospects and despite a slightly below-par campaign last year, he would be a real coup for the Magpies. Photo: JONATHAN NACKSTRAND

8. Jarrod Bowen
Bowen enjoyed a fantastic season last year, one that landed him his first England call-up. It would take a lot to prise him away from West Ham but any club knows they will be getting a Premier League proven player should they plump for the winger. Photo: Shaun Botterill
