'All the urgency of a sleeping pensioner' – Newcastle United fans react to Steve Bruce's 'slow' XI at Arsenal
Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce has selected his Magpies starting XI for the FA Cup third round tie at Arsenal this evening.
And this is how #NUFC Twitter reacted to the news of the XI v the Gunners…
@NUFC360 – “Would be mint to see Anderson debut. Everything else, meh, probably losing anyway.”
@SSoftie – “Joelinton is apparently undroppable!”
@ToonMouthTyne – “With us resting players and Sheffield United going full strength, we need to turn them over even more on Tuesday. Wilson, Fede, Schar, Yedlin, Fraser, Shelvey, Matty and Wilson ALL rested for us. Get at them Tuesday! HUGE GAME.”
@shandahand – “Literally the slowest team I’ve ever seen ... #NUFC.”
@Madflavourrs – “What’s the point in us having an academy anymore if we don’t give youngsters a shot.”
@toonlowdown – “#nufc play so slowly it’s painful to watch anyway but that’s an especially slow team. All the urgency of a sleeping pensioner.”
