Steve Bruce’s 12th-placed side take on Manchester City in a behind-closed-doors Permier League game tomorrow night, but Saint-Maximin and Almiron might not be involved, while Andy Carroll (groin) and Jamaal Lascelles (ankle) have also picked up injuries.

Sean Longstaff and Isaac Hayden are also sidelined with hamstring injuries.

“Unfortunately, we have picked up one or two (injuries),” said head coach Bruce. “I’ll not know the extent until training at 2pm. It’s fair to say Almiron and Saint-Maximin, in particular, are struggling. Andy Carroll picked up a groin strain. Jamaal’s got a sore ankle. Isaac and Sean Longstaff are possibly our fittest payers, and, unfortunately, they’ve picked up soft tissue injuries.

“Everybody’s in the same boat (following the restart), and we understand we’ll pick up a lot of injuries along the way.”
