The winger was allowed to return home late last year to recuperate from Covid-19.

Saint-Maximin has been unavailable since late November, when he missed the club’s win over Crystal Palace after complaining of a calf injury on the eve of the game. Speaking last month, United's head coach said: “Long-term Covid is something which you wouldn’t think possible in young, fit, athletes. Unfortunately, it is so, I'll be governed by the doctors and the medical people,”
