Allan Saint-Maximin reacts to his 'worst' Newcastle United game
Steve Bruce’s side were held to a goalless draw in the FA Cup by League One club Oxford United yesterday.
Saint-Maximin and his team-mates struggled to create clearcut chances in front of a sell-out crowd at St James’s Park.

Hide AdAnd the winger – who returned from a hamstring injury last week – left the stadium disappointed at his own performance in the fourth-round tie. Responding to a fan on Twitter, Saint-Maximin said: “Not gonna lie, that's true it's my worst game so far, no excuses. Now I’m gonna work even harder to be more in shape! Thank you for the support.”
Reflecting on the game, head coach Bruce said: “Frustrated, disappointed, upset. From the first minute to the last, we were never good enough in possession.”
