Allan Saint-Maximin set for timely Newcastle United return

The winger – who missed last night’s Carabao Cup win over Newport County – has been sidelined since September 20 with an ankle problem.

Saint-Maximin returned to training early this week, and Steve Bruce hopes he will be back for Saturday night’s home game.

“Allan wasn’t quite right, but we’re hoping that he can be ready for the weekend,” said United's head coach.

Defender DeAndre Yedlin missed the cup tie with a “knock”, according to Bruce.
