Fans have reacted with Miguel Almiron named on the bench, while there is a start for Joelinton. Allan Saint-Maximin is fit enough to start.

Jeff Hendrick starts against his former club having joined Newcastle United in the summer.

NUFC team: Darlow, Krafth, Fernandez, Schar, Lewis, Hayden, Shelvey, Hendrick, Joelinton, Saint-Maximin, Wilson.

NUFC subs: Gillespie, Carroll, Manquillo, Fraser, Murphy, Almiron, S Longstaff.

Here's the best of the reaction from social media:

Dave Melia tweeted: “If this isnt 5 -3 -3 then it looks pretty unbalanced.”

Ever Vázquez tweeted: “Almirón?”

Luke_NUFC tweeted: “Jeff Hendrick on the wing...SORT IT OUT MAN”

@LiamDowson_55 tweeted: “What’s wrong with Fraser ? Why isn’t he starting?”

chaytor16 tweeted: “All I'd do is take out hendrick for miggy but other than that, it's a very good line up”

@ColledgeDan tweeted: “I'd have kept hendrick in and replaced shelvey with miggy. Apart from the goal in the cup he has been shocking so far”

@mitch_nufc1892 added: “Manquillo and Miggy should be in ahead of Hendrick and Krafth.”

KingOfTNorth tweeted: “Manquillo had a bad game against Newport so I'd say Krafth is a risk but he plays better when he's not forced to be a CB would have replaced Hendrick with Murphy and possibly Shelvey with Almiron based on recent form.”
