Amanda Staveley lodges intriguing new Newcastle United takeover document at Companies House

A new takeover document has been lodged at Companies House by Amanda Staveley’s PCP Capital Partners.

Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, backed by Staveley, has been in talks over a takeover of Newcastle United.

And the document submitted by PCP, which is a £150million loan agreement with Mike Ashley’s St James Holdings, suggest that takeover talks, which have been going on for months, are progressing. The document has been analysed by football finance expert Kieran Maguire.

The Gazette reported earlier this month that a deal had not yet been agreed with Ashley, who put United up for sale in October 2017 and has been looking for upwards of £300million for the Premier League club.

Staveley failed with a previous takeover bid two years ago. Ashley said last summer that he could own the club “forever”. He said: “That’s my new mental state.”
