Antoine Griezmann reveals extraordinary Newcastle United feat in conversation with Kylian Mbappe
Antoine Griezmann has led Newcastle United to glory – on Football Manager.
The Euro 2020-bound Barcelona forward revealed the feat in a conversation onboard a flight with his France team-mates in a clip posted online by the French Football Federation.
Griezmann revealed that he had won the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League, Community Shield and Super Cup in one season with the club on the popular computer game, saying: “I’m in the pantheon of English football.”
The 30-year-old, sitting next to club-mate Ousmane Dembele, tells Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe that he had signed him for Newcastle for 134million Euros. Mbappe says: “Newcastle? It’s not very warm there.”
Newcastle had a number of French players during Alan Pardew’s tenure at St James’s Park, notably Yohan Cabaye, Hatem Ben Arfa, Moussa Sissoko and Mathieu Debuchy. Former chief scout Graham Carr turned to the French transfer market in search better value.
