Newcastle United are eyeing Carlisle United youngster Jarrad Branthwaite

The Gazette understands that United’s talent-spotters have watched Branthwaite regularly this term after the centre back burst onto the scene at Brunton Park.

But they will face a battle to land his signature, with BBC Cumbria claiming Arsenal, Everton, Celtic and Rangers are all watching the teenager as he features against Morecambe this afternoon.
