The latest broadcast details and team news ahead of Newcastle United's trip to Aston Villa in the FA Cup.

Newcastle United will look to build on their 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur when they travel to Aston Villa in the FA Cup fourth round.

The Magpies took a much-needed victory in North London thanks to goals from Malick Thiaw and Jacob Ramsey, either side of Archie Gray’s equaliser. The result ended a three-game losing streak and a run of four defeats in five for Eddie Howe’s men, while it was their first Premier League victory since 7th January.

Now, attention returns to the FA Cup. Newcastle faced a serious battle to reach this stage, having to beat Bournemouth on penalties after a 3-3 draw at home in the third round. As for Villa, they’ve lost just two of their last 10 across all competitions, in a run that includes beating Spurs 2-1 away in the third round. Both sides will fancy their chances of going deep into the tournament if they can get past this round, so read on for broadcast details and the latest team news.

Aston Villa vs Newcastle United team news

Unai Emery is facing a serious midfield dilemma, with Boubacar Kamara out for the season with a knee injury, while Youri Tielemans and John McGinn are out for at least the next month-and-a-half with ankle and knee problems, respectively. Andres Garcia is also out until the end of this month with a hamstring injury, but has only played four games all season anyway. Matty Cash missed the win against Brighton in mid-week and may well sit this match out as well.

Howe isn’t exactly blessed when it comes to fitness at the moment either. Bruno Guimaraes is a major doubt after limping out late against Tottenham, and even if fit, he may well be rested here. Fellow midfielders Lewis Miley and Joelinton are both out until the end of February with knee and thigh problems, respectively, while Emil Krafth is not yet ready to return. Fabian Schar has a long-term ankle problem, while we won’t see Tino Livramento until the middle of next month as he continues to nurse a hamstring problem.

Given the intense schedule Howe’s side have faced across four competitions, including the Champions League returning on Wednesday, he may well choose to heavily rotate his side here, where options allow.
