The Magpies take on Everton in the Premier League at Goodison Park this evening, with Steve Bruce’s men looking to build on last weekend’s stunning last-minute victory over Chelsea.

But will Newcastle’s newest addition – who signs on a temporary basis from German club Schalke – be able to play?

The Premier League’s rules stipulate that all paperwork relating to a transfer must be submitted to and approved by ‘12 noon on the last working day before the date of the first league match.’

Newcastle United have signed Nabil Bentaleb on loan for the remainder of the season.

Give Bentaleb's signing was announced this afternoon, he won’t be available for selection tonight. However, if fit, the 25-year-old Lille-born midfielder could be in line to make his debut against Oxford United in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday.
