Eagles boss Roy Hodgson has described his current injury list as the ‘worst injury crisis since he arrived at the club’.

Former Newcastle players Andros Townsend and Patrick van Aanholt have both been ruled out along with England defender Gary Cahill, Jeffrey Schlupp, Jairo Riedewald and Joel Ward.

"We have six players missing. It's the worst injury crisis since I came to the club,” said Hodgson following Monday night's 1-1 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion.

"We have already lost both full-backs and the cover. We have lost Gary Cahill to injury and Andros Townsend.

"If you look at the substitutes bench, you'll see that there are three players who haven't played before in the first team."

United are sweating on the fitness of Miguel Almiron, Ciaran Clark and Jonjo Shelvey for Saturday.
