DeAndre Yedlin's 'free transfer' to Galatasaray from Newcastle United confirmed
The 27-year-old defender today joined the Turkish club ahead of the expiry of his contract at St James’s Park in the summer. Galatasaray claim that Yedlin has joined on a free transfer.
Yedlin – who last month demanded “clarity” over his future – was given permission to travel to Istanbul over the weekend after the two clubs came to an agreement.

Hide AdSpeaking earlier today, United head coach Steve Bruce said: “Quite simply we’ve had three right-backs at the club now, and I think DeAndre’s suited to playing as a wing-back. It’s been no secret that we’ve been trying to change to a back four for a while now. I’d like to wish DeAndre the very best of luck in Turkey. He’s a great pro and a great lad.”
Yedlin, signed from Tottenham Hotspur in 2016, had recently missed three Premier League games after his work permit expired.
