Newcastle United have been fairly active in all three transfer windows under their new owners - and the upcoming January transfer window may not be any different.
Both incomings and outgoings could be sanctioned by the club with a few areas of the squad needing bolstered, particularly those areas that have been impacted by the recent injury crisis surrounding the club.
However, any incoming must be offset by a player leaving and there are a few players who, for one reason or another, may leave Tyneside in January.
Here, we take a look at eight players that could leave Newcastle United during the January transfer window - and five that won’t.

5. Emil Krafth
Krafth has returned to full fitness after over a year out with an ACL injury. He may find opportunities in the first-team limited however with both Trippier and Livramento ahead of him in the pecking order. | Getty Images

6. Martin Dubravka
Dubravka surprisingly left St James’ Park at the beginning of last season to join Manchester United. Although he returned last winter, it remains a strong indicator that he is still someone that is in demand and without regular first-team football on Tyneside, he may look to leave in January in search for game time. | Getty Images

7. Lewis Miley
Miley impressed during pre-season and Howe was keen to aid his development by keeping him at the club, despite reported interest from the Championship. That stance may be revisited in January and the 17-year-old could be allowed to develop on-loan elsewhere if the Magpies are able to strengthen in midfield during the window. | Getty Images

8. Matt Targett
Lewis Hall’s arrival and Dan Burn’s reliability at left-back means Targett had, once again, been forced to be content with a place on the bench this season with increased competition around him. Like many on this list, he may see his only chance of regular first-team football being away from St James’ Park - although an injury may deter any bids for him. | Getty Images
