Elliot Anderson captains Newcastle United’s under-18s against Aston Villa as they look to progress into the last four of the FA Youth Cup for the first time since 2010.

The exciting Magpies prospect, 18, has made both his Premier League and FA Cup debut for Steve Bruce’s side this term but faces a different challenge tonight.

Anderson scored a last-minute extra-time free-kick versus Watford in the last round to fire United into the quarter-final, which gets underway at St James’ Park at 7pm.

The match will be played behind closed doors but supporters can watch from home via NUFCTV.

Speaking before the game, Anderson said: “Yeah I enjoy it (the captaincy).

"Being the captain and leading the team out is something you always want to do, no matter what age it is.”
