Revealed! England 26-man World Cup squad gallery: Newcastle, Everton and Ex-Leeds stars get nod
Gareth Southgate has confirmed his 26-man England squad for the upcoming 2022 World Cup in Qatar - and it’s good news for a few Newcastle United players.
Nick Pope and Kieran Trippier have been named in the England squad following their impressive form at club level with Newcastle. Callum Wilson has also been handed his first call-up since 2019 after scoring six and assisting three in 10 Premier League appearances so far this season.
The Magpies trio will be heading to Qatar looking to build on the semi-final finish in Russia four years ago. It is also the first time Newcastle have had a player representative for England at an international tournament since Michael Owen in 2006.
