England ‘leaked’ 26-man World Cup squad gallery: Newcastle and Everton stars get Southgate nod

England’s 26-man sqaud for the 2022 World Cup squad will be confirmed at around 2pm on Thursday afternoon.

England manager Gareth Southgate will inform his players who will be on the plane to Qatar shortly before the announcement. The first ever winter World Cup will start on November 21 and end with the final on December 18.

Newcastle United are expected to have their first England representatives at a World Cup since Michael Owen in 2006. Kieran Trippier and Nick Pope are set to be named in the squad with Callum Wilson also in with a chance.

Ahead of the announcement, The Guardian reported that some key players are set to be included in the squad while several others face disappointment. Players such as Tammy Abraham, Ivan Toney, Jadon Sancho and Jarrod Bowen are all reprotedly at risk of missing out.
