They come into the game at Goodison Park tonight off the back of a credible 1-1 draw away to West Ham and will be looking to prevent the Magpies overtaking them into 11th place.

Newcastle tasted victory in their last outing when Isaac Hayden’s last gasp header against Chelsea ensured they took home the three points.

Steve Bruce’s side will be looking to get revenge against an Everton side that beat them 2-1 at St James’s Park just before the new year.

Ancelotti has preferred to set his side up in a traditional 4-4-2 system with Theo Walcott and Bernard providing the width and support for Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison up front, though the striker is set to be missing with injury.

The Brazilian forward has been in good form for Everton so far this season contributing eight goals and three assists so far this campaign whilst his link up with play with Calvert-Lewin has allowed him to find his form recently.

Calvert-Lewin has been one of the main benefactors of the Ancelotti regime with four of the striker’s nine goals coming in the five games since the former Napoli man took charge.

Former Sunderland man, Jordan Pickford is likely to be hoping that his defence offer him some more support than they have done this season.

Everton have conceded 33 goals in their 23 games so far this campaign.

Steve Bruce will be hoping Martin Dubravka can continue his good form, the shot-stopper is likely to be busy against an Everton side that currently average over 13 shots a game.

Since Ancelotti took the helm, Lucas Digne has been very strong for the Toffees and Miguel Almiron will have to be on his top form to have success against him going forward and defensively.

Allan Saint-Maximin may be more likely to have success as his speed and trickery could stretch right-back Seamus Coleman and allow Newcastle to get the ball in and around the box.
