9. Antonio Barreca - Genoa (loan)
Following his solitary appearance on Tyneside during a tragic loan spell at Newcastle, Monaco shipped the left-sided player to Serie A side Genoa. It is not exactly going to plan there either, making just nine appearances from a possible 23. Photo: Enrico Locci
10. Kenedy - Getafe (loan)
An underwhelming second spell at St James’s Park saw him loaned to La Liga outfit Getafe in the summer. Kenedy has struggled to nail down a starting place, however is always good value to come off the bench. Photo: JAVIER SORIANO
11. Stefan O’Connor - Newcastle United
Indeed, O’Connor is still at Newcastle United. He was initially released after struggling with an ACL injury but after battling back to fitness, the Magpies opted to re-sign him, one month later. Photo: Tom Banks
12. Callum Roberts - Blyth Spartans/ Notts County
Many were surprised to see the winger released following his FA Cup goal at Blackburn Rovers. Roberts dropped into non-league to rebuild his career with Blyth Spartans and 17 goals and 25 games later, Notts County came calling. Photo: Bill Broadley
