According to reports in France, United along with West Ham and Watford have ‘indicated their interest’ in the Amiens centre-back, a former teammate of Newcastle right-back Emil Krafth.

Le10 Sport claim the Magpies ‘plan action’ in the January window.

Amiens skipper Gouano, 26, is an ex-France youth international, formerly of Le Havre, Juventus, Vicenza, Atalanta, RKC Waalwijk, Rio Ave, Bolton Wanderers, Gaziantepspor and Vitória Guimarães.
