Winger Aarons, a peripheral figure under Steve Bruce, is understood to be closest to an exit, with a deal to take him to Huddersfield Town in the pipeline.

The 25-year-old saw a deadline day move to the John Smith’s Stadium collapse during the summer window, but the Championship outfit retained their interest through the winter months.

And Yedlin is another who could exit this month, although his successful return to the first-team fold in recent weeks has cast any departure talk in doubt.

And Yedlin, despite his form, could be one player who departs given the player is thought to see his long-term future elsewhere following the end of his current Newcastle United contract.

Yedlin is one of a host of United players whose deals come to an end in June. That list includes the likes of defenders Federico Fernandez, Ciaran Clark and Fabian Schar, and forwards Jacob Murphy and Dwight Gayle.
