Florian Lejeune set to leave Newcastle United on loan

Florian Lejeune is set to be allowed out on loan by Steve Bruce.

The Newcastle United defender is understood to be set for a loan at La Liga club Alaves.

Lejeune, signed from Eibar in the summer of 2017, found his opportunities limited by injuries and the form of others last season.

And head coach Bruce has sanctioned a season-long loan for the 29-year-old, signed by his predecessor Rafa Benitez.

Lejeune is under contract at Newcastle until 2022.
