Former Newcastle United forward joins Hebburn Town after leaving Darlington

Hebburn Town have announced their latest signing as they build towards their first season in National League North.

Hebburn Town have completed the signing of former Newcastle United forward Tom Allan from National League North rivals Darlington.

Allan made one senior appearance for the Magpies and marked it with an assist for Joelinton in the 4-1 FA Cup third round replay with over Rochdale at St James’ Park in January 2020.

The now 26-year-old had loan spells at Accrington Stanley and Greenock Morton before his release in 2022. He then joined Gateshead and has also spent time at Spennymoor Town and South Shields before spending last season at Darlington.

The Quakers confirmed Allan's departure on Friday before he was announced as a Hebburn player less than 24 hours later.

“We’re delighted to announce the signing of Tom Allan,” the Hornets said. “Exciting times ahead as we continue to build for the future.”

Darlington thanked Allan for his efforts, writing on X: “Tom has chosen to pursue a new opportunity elsewhere.

“We want to thank Tom for all his efforts last season—21 appearances and 4 goals, including that unforgettable last-minute winner at Bedford! We wish Tom all the very best in his future career.”
