Wijnaldum turned down a new deal at Liverpool to join the Ligue 1 club, managed by Mauricio Pochettino, as a free agent.

"I'm joining one of the best squads in Europe, and I want to bring all my desire and commitment to this ambitious project," said Wijnaldum, who is away with Holland ahead of Euro 2020. "Paris St-Germain have proved how good they are in recent years, and I’m convinced that together we can go even further and higher."

Wijnaldum joined Liverpool from Newcastle United for £25m in 2016. He spent just one year at St James’s Park after joining from PSV Eindhoven, and left following the club’s relegation to the Championship.

The 30-year-old – who won the Premier League and Champions League during his five years at Anfield – had also been a target for Barcelona.
