Ex-Newcastle United striker Salomon Rondon is set to follow Rafa Benitez out the Dalian Pro exit door.

Reports suggest the former Magpies No.9 will leave the Chinese Super League, where he was formerly managed by now out-of-work Benitez, and sign for CSKA Moscow.

It’s claimed talks to sign the Venezuelan international frontman have already begun – and that his departure is just around the corner.

Rondon signed for Dalian Yifang in the summer of 2019, when his loan deal at St James’ Park ended.

The striker scored 12 goals in a 33-game Newcastle United loan spell in Benitez’s last season with the Magpies.

Rondon has previously played for two clubs in the Russian Premier League, having spent time at Zenit and Rubin.
