The Magpies will be hoping for a much better performance than the one they put in during their 1-0 defeat to the Blades back in January, however, and with a watching crowd in the stands for the first time all season, Steve Bruce will be fully aware of just how important it is for his players to give a good account of themselves.
One talent who looks to be doing that with increasing success at the moment is Joelinton.
The Brazilian scored a penalty in the 4-3 defeat to Manchester City to make it three goals in his last seven outings – and his manager is hopeful that he can continue to kick on now that he has seemingly settled into the English game a little better.
Speaking in a press conference after Friday night’s match, he said: “I think he’s coming to terms with the language, coming to terms with the Premier League in terms of England.
“He’s far better than what he was.
"We know there’s a player in there, that’s for sure. But I’m delighted he’s got a few goals now, and looked a threat. I was very, very pleased with him. He’s just got to be that selfish, even when Joe Willock takes the ball off him for the penalty. We’ve got a good player in there."
