Henry Mauriss' lawyers make Newcastle United claim as Premier League consider takeover

Henry Mauriss would quickly clear the Premier League’s owners’ and directors’ test, according to his lawyers.

A £300million bid for Newcastle United, funded by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, was lodged with the Premier League two months ago.

Fans are impatiently waiting for a decision on the takeover.

American businessman Mauriss is reportedly ready to meet the asking price – if the bid is rejected.

Mauriss’ lawyers have claimed, according to the Mirror, that he would pass the test in “less than three weeks”.
