5. CB: Ciaran Clark - 229 minutes played
Clark’s pre-season started slow, featuring for only 20 minutes in the first two matches, however, he has since started three of the last four and with Paul Dummett still injured and Fabian Schar not yet up to full fitness, Clark is likely to start again on Sunday. Photo: Michael Regan

6. LWB: Jamal Lewis - 315 minutes played
One of the most pleasing aspects of pre-season has been the reintroduction of Jamal Lewis to the Newcastle first-team. Absent for the majority of the end of last campaign, Lewis will be hoping his second season on Tyneside is more productive than an injury-hit first season. Photo: Michael Regan

7. CM: Isaac Hayden - 414 minutes played
To the surprise of no one, Isaac Hayden was the only Newcastle player to start every game of pre-season. Photo: Michael Regan

8. CM: Sean Longstaff - 354 minutes played
Longstaff has had a solid pre-season under his belt but will want to impress if given an opportunity on Saturday with a host of players such as Jonjo Shelvey, Miguel Almiron and the incoming Joe Willock ready to usurp him. Photo: Charlotte Tattersall
