Injury-hit Steve Bruce bemoans of lack striking options at Newcastle United

Steve Bruce says he would love to “rotate” his front players – but he doesn’t enough enough options.

Bruce’s side lacked firepower against the Premier League’s bottom-placed side – a day after the transfer window closed without the club signing a striker.

“With the problems we have, and I don’t want to highlight them, and you can see with Joe (Joelinton), (Miguel) Almiron, the last two or three weeks, I would like to in a position to rotate them,” said United’s injury-hit head coach. “They have played almost every minute of every game. I don’t have the luxury to change that end of the pitch. We have been lucky that we haven’t been beaten when we have played poorly.”

Bruce is without injured strikers Andy Carroll, Yoshinori Muto and Dwight Gayle.
