'It will be tough, weird' without Newcastle crowd but Sean Longstaff vows to give United's armchair fans something to cheer about

Sean Longstaff admits it is going to be tough to play without the backing of Newcastle United fans from within the stadium.

But the midfielder admits players must learn to adapt, motivate themselves and give the Magpies’ ‘armchair faithful’ something to shout about.

“When the fans are with us, Newcastle is one of the toughest places to come in the country,” he told NUFC TV.

“To not have them there it is going to be tough to get over the line. They keep us in a lot of games, and help us win a lot of games.

“It is going to be weird, but I suppose it is going to be the norm for a little while now and it is up to us to get ourselves motivated without the help of the crowd.

“I know everyone will be watching from home though so hopefully we can give everyone something to cheer about on their settees.”
