'Let’s have a takeover announcement': Newcastle United fans rejoice after excellent win over Bournemouth
Newcastle fans were in a buoyant mood on Wednesday evening after watching their side thrash Bournemouth 4-1 at the Vitality Stadium.
Goals from Dwight Gayle, Sean Longstaff, Miguel Almiron and Valentino Lazaro gave Steve Bruce’s side all three points, yet it was winger Allan Saint-Maximin who earned most of the plaudits with three assists and an excellent display.
Here’s how some supporters reacted on social media:
@riche967: Well that was pleasant to watch on a Wednesday tea time #NUFC Let’s have a takeover announcement now please
@MarkClinton30: Brilliant performance from @NUFC today! @asaintmaximin absolutely on fire Well played lads!! All four goals were very well taken.
@k20glh: Enjoyed watching #nufc what is going on?! Shelvey on form, always forward thinking and a few great balls forward, but can’t take anything away from Saint-Maximin. Spectacular again #cans #announcetakeovernow
@nufcsean: Not going to lie. Didn't see that performance coming at all. Thought Bournemouth would want a scrap but didn't. Yes they were poor but #NUFC were very, very good too.
@Jack_Rogers97: A fantastic performance from the lads, absolutely dominated from start to finish. St-Maximin played an absolute masterclass performance being the third player in Newcastle’s history to get triple assists in the Premier League.
@lewiss_carr: People harp on about how much Rafa didn’t want Joelinton, What people also forget to mention is that he also didn’t want Saint Maximin
@BorisBedd: Thoroughly enjoyed that #NUFC game, completely dominated. The scoreline flattered Bournemouth, they were extremely lucky to score the 1 and only concede 4.
@Jimmy_R7: So many good performances, ASM is MoM but Shelvey has been outstanding today as well
@DiscoShoes95: Allan Saint-Maximin. The best since Ben Arfa, maybe better. Oh how we love a mercurial, temperamental French winger
@wulbear: Safe for another year now. Just need the takeover to be passed. Another great performance though
@JJFletcher7: Just wait until the takeover happens Allan and you are assisting Mbappe next season !
@katiem430: Never enjoyed a performance like that for a long time. Love a comfortable @NUFC win!
@KevT1987: @asaintmaximin Man of the match unreal player. I love watching him play
