While the cup is a priority, will Steve Bruce have one eye on Tuesday night’s top flight trip to winless in 17 Sheffield United – or will he go for broke in North London? Here’s the XI our writer Liam Kennedy would pick tonight (kick-off 5.30pm)...
9. Miguel Almiron
The Paraguayan doesn't look like he's enjoying his football - and his performances have been reflective of that. Gone is the infectious smile and the final third positivity, replaced by lots of running around with no particular aim, chasing opposition players deep into United territory. A cup performance would inject new life into his season. He desperately needs it. Photo: Pool
10. Joelinton
Hold up play against Leicester = 8/10. Goal threat = 1/10. The Brazilian is what he is, and can have a valuable contribution in this team. His physicality can help keep United up the park, if given the chance to do so. Photo: MICHAEL REGAN
11. Dwight Gayle
The next best striker at the club after Callum Wilson, so surely if you rest the top-scorer you bring in Gayle? We will see if Bruce is of the same mindset. He rarely is. Photo: OWEN HUMPHREYS
