Newcastle United ended a run of 11 games without a win on Merseyside as a Callum Wilson brace ensured a 2-0 win over Everton.

The striker will obviously take the headlines but how did the rest of the Magpies players perform on the afternoon? Liam Kennedy takes a look at the players’ who stood out and ones who didn’t.

Isaac Hayden, Jeff Hendrick and Miguel Almiron come in for some particular praise, as well as, of course, the the Magpies’ main man Wilson...

Looked a player transformed. Had some tough moments against Alex Iwobi early on but improved massively.

An excellent first 45. Pressed with the best of them, won his tackles. A leader in the middle. Faded a little as the game wore on but that's no surprise given the yards he covered.
