Bruce – who has lost striker Dwight Gayle for up to four months – is also looking at the loan market, and Arsenal defender Rob Holding is a primary target.

United's head coach has also asked Liverpool about the availability of 20-year-old Brewster, according to the Daily Telegraph. Jurgen Klopp, however, could opt to keep Brewster – who spent the second half of last season on loan at Swansea City – at Anfield for now.
