Newcastle United head to Old Trafford knowing that they must win in order to maintain control of their own destiny in the race to qualify for Europe. Any slip up could give the Red Devils or Chelsea the advantage heading into the final game of the season.
Eddie Howe has been able to welcome back a couple of key players in recent weeks with Joelinton, Miguel Almiron and Kieran Trippier all making their respective comebacks from injury. Nick Pope has also returned to the matchday squad, five months after dislocating his shoulder late on during Newcastle’s 1-0 triumph over the Red Devils in the reverse fixture.
Whilst Howe still has a number of players sidelined, his opposite number has a huge collection of players sidelined and an injury crisis of his own to deal with.
Erik ten Hag will certainly be without five first-team players with six more players major doubts to face the Magpies. Their main concern will be surrounding the fitness of Bruno Fernandes who has missed their last two outings through injury.
