Newcastle United face Manchester United tonight in a crunch match in the race for European football. A win for the Magpies would ensure they enter Sunday’s game against Brentford with their destiny in their own hands and the possibility of even finishing 5th - depending on Tottenham Hotspur’s result against Sheffield United.
A point tonight would also guarantee they finish above Manchester United for the first time in Premier League history, whilst a defeat would hand the initiative back to the Red Devils and the Blues.
Eddie Howe’s side travel to Old Trafford on the back of a 1-1 draw with Brighton - a clash they had to play without the services of Callum Wilson who missed that game entirely. Wilson is a doubt to feature tonight along with fellow strike partner Alexander Isak also a doubt after being taken off against the Seagulls after suffering with illness.
Nick Pope has been an unused substitute in their last two games whilst Kieran Trippier made just a small cameo against Brighton. Manchester United, meanwhile, also have a long list of injuries with Erik ten Hag confirming that Bruno Fernandes is at risk of missing the match through injury.
One positive for the Red Devils is that Lisandro Martinez could make his return to the squad. Here, we take a look at all the latest injury news ahead of tonight’s game:
