Hide AdRitchie was forced off earlier in the game after colliding with Matt Doherty, and United head coach Steve Bruce revealed that the 31-year-old is likely to need surgery.
“Matt Ritchie’s done his shoulder, and it doesn’t look good,” said Bruce, who was without Allan Saint-Maximin (ankle) and Ryan Fraser (groin). "He’s done the joint, I think. I don’t think it’s a dislocation, but he’s done exactly the same as Fab Schar, which would probably mean an operation. We’ll know more in the next couple of days.”
